They love their soccer
Hi all!
It was crazy here last night. If you don't follow soccer, France won again. People were setting of fire crackers, people were screaming, honking there horns, dancing in the fountains . . . it was nuts. It was really cool to be here for that. I don't think I've ever seen a group of Canadians get that excited about anything. Warm weather maybe?
Everything is going well. People are waiting for computers so I'm not going to make this one super long. Its great to hear from everyone who posted comments or sent emails. Just FYI, Leah told me she sent me an email and I never received it so I don't know how well my sympatico box works. If you want to tell me something your best bet is to post a comment here or to write an email to my U of T address: caty.laushway_at_utoronto.ca. (No spam please, that account has limited space.) I've received some new emails to my sympatico account so I don't really know what's going on there.
Hope you're all well.

Reformatting your email post so your addy looks like this:
caty.laushway_at_utoronto.ca
will prevent spam. 'Bots don't get that you're talking about an email address then.

I imagine that the celebration isn't all that much different than what we see here during NHL playoffs. Though even then I don't think we're quite as wild as that..
I'm glad to see that you're posting here regularly.

France sauntered into the finals so enjoy the celebrations if they happen on Sunday. :)
Glad to hear you're having a good time, and enjoy Paris! :)

I slacked off yesterday and didn't go to work so I had the chance to see the game. It was clear early on that France had the better defence and offence, so they did deserve the win. I think France will win the cup so brace yourself for more "wild" celebrations there.
I'm still waiting for that photo of yours with the Eiffel Tower in the background....But for now, PARTY ON, CATY!!!!(or shall I say, study well?) Also, good to see another posting from you.

To clarify that last comment, dad left it, and I brought him to Q Dim Sum Palace, and it was fabulous, as always. So go on and enjoy your "authentic French food". We don't care. Not even a little. Food-snob.

It's a lovely Saturday evening here in Toronto, 8th of July and thought I'd write you a few lines again. Just came home from a nice, brisk walk from Yonge & Bloor all the way here to my place and the streets are simply a-buzzing with all kinds of 'creatures' - in all shapes, sizes and forms. I suppose it is silly of me to ask if you're missing Toronto at all. Why would you when Paris is, from what I gather, far more exciting. Relish and cherish every moment you have there because it is truly the chance of a lifetime...Good going, Caty...looking forward to seeing those points of interest France has to offer through your eyes.
